Both Dr. Slack and Dr. Combs are board-certified by the American Association of Orthodontists and received their Master's degrees in orthodontics from the University of Iowa College of Dentistry. This esteemed post-graduate orthodontic residency program is regarded internationally as one of the best curriculums for orthognathic surgical training. During their residency training, Dr. Slack and Dr. Combs learned to evaluate, discuss, diagnose and treat difficult orthodontic cases that need, are undergoing, or have completed surgical orthodontic treatment. Because of their prominent education and distinguished professional backgrounds, Dr. Slack and Dr. Combs have gained a strong reputation in Spokane as the top practice in the area for treating tough surgical cases, including those in need of dental implants or orthognathic surgery .
 Stephanie Combs, DMD, MS
Dr. Stephanie Combs has a Bachelor’s of Science degree with double majors in Biology and Chemistry from Kentucky Wesleyan College, her Doctorate of Dental medicine with high distinction from the University of Kentucky, and her Master’s of Science degree in Orthodontics from the University of Iowa. Dr. Combs is a Diplomate for the American Board of Orthodontics and a member of the American Association of Orthodontists.
Dr. Combs strives to achieve superior results for each patient in a comfortable, enjoyable, and caring atmosphere.
In her spare time, Dr. Combs enjoys skiing, gardening, fishing and horseback riding. Although Dr. Combs and her husband, John, grew up in Kentucky, they have grown to love the Pacific Northwest and enjoy rural living on their farm south of Spokane.
 James M. Slack, DDS, MS
Dr. James Slack has a Bachelor’s of Science degree from Washington State University, his Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the University of Washington and his Master’s of Science degree in Orthodontics from the University of Iowa. Dr. Slack is a Diplomate for the American Board of Orthodontics and a member of the American Association of Orthodontists.
Dr. Slack’s enthusiastic commitment to his profession and his patience shows in the quality of his patients’ individual smiles.
In his spare time, Dr. Slack enjoys computers, snow skiing, spectator sports and traveling. Dr. Slack and his wife, Ann, have lived in Spokane since 1975, and they have raised their four children here.
